Providing a heading

Heading is the most important part of your blog post as it is the best summary of your post. It should tell what your post is about. It should contain the key words in your blog post. (that means the words in your heading should often appear in your blog post, that’s it.) There are free and paid keyword search programs on the web if you want, you can try one. Better key words are SEO friendly. (that means people use those key words to search things in search engines like Google and Bing.) Most bloggers start their topic using How to, Top 10, the best…etc. as most people use those words to search things in search engines.

Providing sub heading and minor sub headings

It is a good practice to provide sub headings and minor subheadings to organize your blog post rather than writing it in a single paragraph or paragraphs. Better organized post is more reader friendly and it helps to develop SEO in your post. If you have sub headings in your posts, search engines can reach the specific breakdowns of your post which will help target audience to reach your content more. Sub headings break your post into small topics. You can insert minor sub headings under sub headings.

Amount of words in an average post

Writing a sizable post always matters. You should write good and original contents if you intend to thrive in blogging. Copy pasting things on the web is illegal and it might cause your blog to be banned. Readers like to read original content and you can have a unique set of audience if you write good content. So, make sure you provide quality content to your readers first.

The average size of a blog post should be more than 500 words. To be a good post it should have at least 1000 words. (seems big, but with the new technology, you do not need manual typing anymore, you can voice type things easily.) Writing sizable and quality content would rank your posts high, which means you get high search engine reach which means better traffic to your blog! Some hire content writers for their blogs, if you write for the purpose of making some revenue on the blog, you can hire a content writer.

Providing links

Providing hyperlinks inside the blog post is a great way to increase your readability and reachability of the blog. It increases your post views and traffic. After writing a blog post you can provide links to the similar posts in your blog or provide external links to give extra information about the topic you discussed which give your blog reader an added advantage. You can provide links to your social media to engage your readers to stay in touch. If you have a YouTube channel you can embed related videos into your blog posts. By making your blog a station you can draw traffic to your other blogs and attract traffic from outside sources and to your other blogs and video channels.

Adding labels

Better organized blog is more reader friendly. Fortunately, Blogger provides a facility called labels to keep your posts organized. You can categorize your posts under different labels. For example, if you write a blog on tech, you can categorize your posts under various topics like: new gadgets, hacks, tips and tools…etc. Adding labels help the reader to find posts easily. When you write a blog post you can add labels in the right hand side of the editor.

Publishing and Scheduling

Now you have written a great post and it is ready to be published. Before publishing, make sure you have double checked your content. Of course, you can edit the post after publishing but it is better you go through the blog post before publishing because badly organized content may lose your audience. Check for spelling and grammar mistakes, order and organization and whether you have included everything you pre-planned. You can preview the post before you publish to check how your post looks on the browser. Once everything is ok, you can publish your first blog post. If you do not want to publish the post on the same day you write, you can schedule a future day for the post. When you have free time, you can write few posts and schedule it on future days, so you do not violate the regularity of your publishing of posts.

These are only few things about blogging. Keep on blogging and you will learn more secrets hidden inside Bloggers platform. Keep on reading about blogging which is a great way to develop your blogging.
